Stillwater Luxe is an eco-friendly, design-led lakefront escape for families and small groups who want equal parts downtime and mountain adventure—without feeling far from it all (just over an hour from Denver). Set on a wooded 2.5-acre lot at 9,000 feet, you’ll wake to aspen-lined views and spend your days moving between the water, the sauna, and the patio.

Inside, five upcycled shipping containers become a bright, modern home with three bedrooms, two full baths, and a fully stocked kitchen. The showstopper is the lake-facing wall of glass, framing Thorn Lake and the granite cliffs of Thorodin Mountain from the living room, dining area, and outdoor space. When you’re ready to explore beyond the shoreline, Golden Gate Canyon State Park is minutes away for hiking, biking, and wildlife watching, and Eldora Mountain makes an easy day trip for skiing in winter.
